National Custodian Appreciation Day is celebrated annually on October 2. The day was created in 1985 as a way to recognize and appreciate the countless hours custodians put in every day to ensure that schools, offices, and other public places are clean and safe for everyone.

Each year on October 15, Global Handwashing Day highlights the importance of handwashing with soap and water, especially during key times throughout the day.
